Several years ago, I had a team member from the Vietnam, offer an expense neck tie to me as a Christmas give. It was hard to explain to him that I couldn’t accept sure a beautiful nick tie. I had to explain to him that he had not done anything wrong, but in our US culture, we cannot accept expensive questions from team members. He reluctantly took the tie back. After doing some research, I found that it is almost expected to give expense gives in Vietnam in order to keep ones job.
